Compressible subsonic flow around an airfoil

Hi everyone,
I have a NACA 2412 airfoil I wish to solve the flow for. My freestream Mach number is 0.8.
I would like to know which numerical solver would be best in this case. I have tried different ones (HLLC, JST) but none seem adequate.
Do you have any advice?
Also, should I use Euler implicit or Runge-Kutta time-discretization?

Thanks in advance
William

Are you solving the Euler equations or are you solving the full compressible N-S equations? I'm a fan of Roe's scheme for the inviscid flux as it has low numerical diffusion compared to other schemes.

For the solvers you have tried, have you extended them to second order or are you running them first order? I would guess that extending HLLC to second order would be more productive then changing from HLLC to Roe.

Euler implicit will increase the speed of convergence, but it is hard to implement compared to RK. If you are just solving the Euler equations I would stick to RK.

I am only solving the Euler equations.
I will try to extend them to second order.
Thanks for the advice!
