Hallo guys,

we do use AVL Fire M in our company and i want to use CFD Software to make simulations from our products (mostly valves and pipes for LDPE industry).

Now we do have the Polymerisation process of Ethylene to Polyethylene.

If i consider a conversation rate of 30 % Polyethylene and 70 % Ethylene i do ask myself how i should define the medium.

I do think this plastic is like honey very viscous and it is a non newtonian fluid.

I think i need to simulate this medium as a 2 Phase fluid.

Does anyone can give some input or links where i can find some help?

I do know the simulation preprocessing steps but i have completly no idea how to define this medium.

Thank you, best Regards Stefan

We do have this model implemented in Wildkatze software

https://www.sciencedirect.com/scienc...27775707003044

The most difficult thing we found is the determination of model parameters. If you do not want to write than you can just use Wildkatze for it.

PS: I hope I am not mistaken but from your post i understood this is what you wanted.

thank you for the link.

But im searching for a cfd material model for LDPE

this means the polymerisation process of ethylene into polyethylene.

so for a composition for example of 30 % polyethylene and70 % ethylene.

This paper deals with polyurethan.

And how to simulate the viscoelastic materialproeprties

what is wildkatze software

is it able to simulate that polymerisation process and the viscoelastic material behaviour?

seems to be that wildkatze only runs on linux.

i cant find any materialfile for avl fire m.

The question for me is what i need to simulate a structural viscous material

with a shear velocity depending viscousity

"this means the polymerisation process of ethylene into polyethylene."

I am sorry my mistake, I did not carefully read.

Theoritically you can simulate with Wildkatze if you know the reactions. Even the poly-Eurathane is reactive flow.

Yes Wildkatze is only for linux, there used to be a windows version but now not maintained.
