Plotting velocity profile in XZ plane
1 Attachment(s)
Hi,
I'm currently working with a CFD analysis where I want to compare to experiments. This has previously be done like the attached figure (Ashton & Revell 2015) where the figure caption is "Mean stream-wise velocity". I have the experimental data in a table as X Z U but I can't figure out how the plotted the velocity profile like they have done above. I feel that it must be simple but I cant figure out how to do them myself. How do I plot a velocity profile like this? Best regards Tobias |

As shown in the attached image, the researchers have plotted the velocity profile in the X-Z plane to show how the velocity profiles will look at the mentioned positions of the body.
I'm not a big fan of showing velocity profiles like that. I would prefer if they simply showed the velocity profiles at the X positions, and not mention the Z positions, as the Z height is distracting. The image I attached was from this publication: https://www.researchgate.net/publica...amic_modelling How to create such a plot? Maybe calculate/record the velocity profiles, then add the height Z(x) to the profile before plotting it. Where Z is the height at the position x. Can be done in MS-Excel, Python, Matlab etc. |
