FVM global vs local accuracy
Hello,
Can someone explain how local and global accuracy is calculated for the standard finite volume method? When we say a scheme is "locally first order" and "globally second order", what does it mean mathematically? Thanks. |

Differently from FD, the order of accuracy in the FV methods is related to the local truncation error of the flux reconstruction. The "global" error is often reported to be a different denomination of the discretization error. But the accuracy order depends on the LTE. |
