Export to STP from SpaceClaim

1 Attachment(s)
Hi,

I'd like to export my geometry from SpaceClaim to .STP file type. Unfortunately From the drop down menu I only have the option to export it in .scdoc file type and I don't have all the other options as the Ansys Manual says or as all the tutorial show...

Any idea why does this happen and how to solve it?

Thank you

Its possibly because your geometry isn't suitable for exporting i.e. it has some errors which make it invalid. If not so, if you could give more info on your geometry or how you're running spaceclaim, then I could suggest better.

The Geometry comes from an .stp file, so if I don't make any changes I should be able do export it from Space Claim again in .stp format...
I'm running on the student version, could it be the problem?

Yes possibly. That could be a cause. SpaceClaim has a limitation of max 50 bodies and max 300 faces once imported into Workbench. If your .stp file exceeds these, its possible you can't export.

Then for sure that’s the cause!! Thank you very much

Now spaceclaim student version only allows to export the geometry in spaceclaim format (.scdoc). Unlike previous limitations like 50 bodies and 300 faces doesn't matter now. Even if its just one body, you won't be able to export in step format unfortunately.
