Hello
I'm new in CFD and I'm trying to do a unsteady flow simulation in porous media, my question is :

which algorithm should i choose for pressure velocity coupling ?

I was considering to use SIMPLE algorithm but then i read that it is not a good choice for unsteady flow/ highly time dependent flow.

here is some details about the problem:
the problem contains a flow equation, convection-diffusion-reaction equation and growth equation that should be solved simultaneously.

(The flow is described by brinkman equation in porous domain in which the porosity is time dependent, and changes in porosity are due to biological growth inside the porous media which is described by a pde (containing diffusion term and a growth term that is function of nutrient consumption and nutrient/mass distribution in porous media is described by convection-diffusion-reaction equation)

Thanks

SIMPLE can work. It is sometimes less preferred because SIMPLE always needs multiple iterations. In transient simulations, people like to use small time-steps and few iterations per time-step, which is a different strategy and favors other methods. But you can use SIMPLE and a ton of people use it for transient problems. For industrial calculations SIMPLE dominates transient calculations by a huge margin.
