Spectral Methods

Dear colleagues, I am working on fluid flow stability and I am using pseudospectral methods. Is there anybody working on the same subject? I would like to share ideas (and troubles !!). Also, I've just download a shareware pack named PseudoPack and I'd like to have some comments on this pack. Thanks Andreas Karabis

Re: Spectral Methods

I'm also interested in spectral method. But I'm still a noviciate. I find two books. One is "Spectral Methods in Fluid Dynamics" by Caunuto,1988. The other is "Chebyshev and Fourier Spectral Methods" by Boyd,1989. I think they are helpful.

Yes, those two books are very good reference material. I definitely recommend the one by Canuto (please note the spelling). Good luck.

Dear Guys,

I'm working on flow instability, Lid driven cavity and Thermocapilliraty driven cavity, using spectral methods for my Ph.D.

I've learned and still learning Spectral methods with the 2 books you guys have cited.
Canuto and Boyd.

There's also an excellent book to start. Spectral methods in Matlab, Lloyd Trefethen.

I will be happy to share my knowledges, learn more about this numerical method and the topics where you are using it.

Hope read you soon.

Thomas
