I'm a 4th year undergraduate student in s'pore doing a CFD project looking at the various configurations of square columns (eg for 1,2 or 3 square columns) under viscous flow. I'm supposed to study the vortex patterns of these configurations and determine the best config. I'm overwhelmed by the amount of books on Fluid dynamics and was wondering if anyone could suggest any book or specifically any journal article pertaining to this topic. I already have a program provided by my supervisor but i just need to learn the theory so that I can analyze my data.

Azmi, are you looking for a book about CFD in general to give you an idea about the conservation equations solved and the methodology? if yes: There is a book titled "Numerical Heat Transfer and Fluid Flow" of "Patankar". Unfortunately I don't have any more info about that book right now because I left it in my home country. Good luck =Ahmed=

I need to find experimental/computational data on these type of experiments so that I can compare results.
