Default Triangular elements are stiff?

Hi,

I've heard a rumor that triangular elements are "stiff", which seems to be a trouble but a famous fact in FEM for solid mechanics. I'm not familiar with FEM. So, I don't understand what this means. Anyone can explain it to me? Or any references that deal with it?

And, is it a problem also in CFD?

Thanks,

Kevin
