I am a newbie in openFoam and trying to simulate multiphase flow in this. And need to find the best solver for this sitution. I need to simulation the flow of a liquid along with the presence of air that means theres atmospheric pressure in the vessel.

The archetype is interFoam (interface Foam). Start there. There is also a tutorial.
I highly recommend you look in the tutorials folder and see what tutorials are there. Chances are, one of the tutorials does exactly what you are looking for |

i tried running the interfoam with a mesh about 10000 cells but the solver is running very slow. the alpha.water water value in each iteration is about 10^-2 in value and the min alpha.water value is very low negative like 10^-16.any specific issue that can cause this? |
