I am looking to do an acoustic analysis in openFoam utilizing acousticFoam. To simulating dampening acoustic plates on walls i am looking to using the Acoustic dampening fvOption.
https://www.openfoam.com/documentati...c-damping.html However i am not an expert in reading openfoam's source code and therefore i am not certain how this would interact as acousticfoam solves the acoustic pressure, while the fvOption dampens the regular pressure. Anyone got any info on how this interaction works? |

you use your fvOptions to add a source/sink. In this case, since you want acoustic damping, you add a sink term to the acoustic pressure (pa). It does nothing to the regular pressure because there is no regular pressure in acoustic foam.
