Hydraulic pump -3d simulation paper

Can I recommend this paper to those showing CFD interest in 3D-hydraulic pumps[radial, mixed axial flow]. SIMULATION OF 3D UNSTEADY FLOW IN HYDRAULIC PUMPS http://www.ub.utwente.nl/webdocs/wb/1/t0000004.pdf

(1). Thank you very much for the information. (2). I think it is a very good piece of work, both theoretical and experimental. (3). Since I don't have the time to read the whole report on line,I will try to find time to download and read it.

Re: Hydraulic pump -3d simulation paper

(1). Figure 6.28 Eta vs Q shows clearly the difference between the idealized model and the real world data. (2). In real world, the flow is always 3-D turbulent, and most likely transient. At the design point (or BEP), the flow is less complicated and thus a better match is achieved. At the off-design point, the loss model is not accurate because the base model is very complicate. (3). The value of the paper is in its careful approach in numerical modelling, comparison with experimental data, and the identification of the differences.
