Hi,

I am looking on information about cell volume and face area claculation of pentahedral cells i.e. pyramids and prisms for FV method, can anyone through light on it. Please provide any reference if possible.

Thanks

You can break the pyramids or prisms into tetrahedron and then compute the volumes by adding the volume of the tetrahedrons.

In the book of Ferziger & Peric "Computational methods for fluid dynamics" paragraph 8.6.4 Three-Dimensional grids, you will find the "finite volume formulation" in terms of cell face centres and face area vectors to calculate the volume of a control volume.
