Rotationally Invariant Methods

In a finite difference method, the coordinate system is fixed by the grid. But in a finite volume method, there is no such restriction. We can use any Cartesian coordinate frame for updating the solution. My question is, will the solutions obtained using different coordinate frames be the same for a finite volume method ? That is, will it have the property of rotational invariance of the governing equations ?
