Dear all,

Could anybody suggest some package on the market for indoor air quality analysis with approximate price and advantages (or disadvantages) they have?

(1). Sorry, CFD is numerical analysis and mathematical modeling in fluid mechanics. (2). What do you mean by CFD package? (3). For indoor air quality analysis, what are you trying to find as a result of analysis?

Mr. Chien,

1. I don't know if you have heard about Airpak, that is a kind of "numerical analysis and mathematical modeling in fluid mechanics" software that is tailor make for for HVAC system with bounday conditions easy for input on jet inlet and fan out flow condition with a customed made mesh generating mechanism (like qfin, unlike as general as gambit) engineered for fast production of mesh in indoor air quality and cooling situtation.

2. CFD package means "numerical analysis and mathematical modeling in fluid mechanics" software that included preprocessor, processor and postprocessor.

3. I think if you was professional in this field, you know what people wants for IAQ. Length explaination was not given here.

(1). There were numerous discussions here already on the step-by-step approach to select a commercial package. (2). You may want to do the old message search first. Or you can visit the vendor's webpage and discuss your need with the vendors. (3). It is like asking a question : Can CFD solve my problem? Which code is cheaper? If you don't know the answer, then it is a waste of time here.

Hi,

There are several packages for doing indoor air quality study.

Airpack by Fluent (www.fluent.com) Star-LT by CD (www.cd.ac.uk) vortex (? although not recommendable) flovent (www.flomerics.com)

These differen package are special made for indoor air flow.

Of cause all of the other full CFD can also handle indoor air flow.

Jens

(1). I would say that there are probably some people doing indoor air quality simulation, using some codes. (2). The important thing is "who are these people", because the code(s) simply can't do simulation by it(them) self (ves). (3). A better question is " Can someone tell me what's the proper way to do indoor air quality simulation?" Putting the person under the code is not going to work. (4). Once the person knows how to model the air quality properly, he can choose to use off-the-shelf codes if he thinks the code can help him in ceratin ways. (5). cfd-forum is not a code which answers questions related to cfd.
