Hi all. In two-phase flow, (I wanna use modified VOF scheme such like a SURFER, or HRIC ....)

doesn't it need any pressure or velocity boundary conditions at interface ? (It just depends on discretization scheme ?)

reply plz...

You are right, and in SURFER, you have a term which accounts for the capillary force which is realized by a volume fraction.

The interfacial boundary conditions are taken care of within the one-Fluid formulation, with some simplifications of course..

Read: Kataoka (1986) Local Instant Formulation of 2-phase flow. International Journal o

Multiphase flow v12(5)pp745-768

A more of an engineering derivation (from a slightly different approach) can be found in a thesis of W. Sabisch from Karlsruhe. I think their was a paper by him also at the ICMF2001 conference.

I would suggest trying to derive the equations from scratch to really understand where they come from and what exactly their limitations are...

Happy VOFing...
