for help on confined swirl jet model

Dear that see this message:

I am using k-epsilon model ,SIMPLE method to simulate swirl flow(s=0.9) ,would you please tell me how to modify the original turbulence model so that it can include the swirl effect? Tell me the referring books or papers is also welcome.

Thanks for your time.

Sincerely Gui Qiaoyi

Re: for help on confined swirl jet model

(1). I think, the two-equation k-epsilon model is a platform which can be used in the turbulence modeling. I mean, it is an established one for starting the modeling effort. (2). SIMPLE is another platform for formulating the numerical analysis of flow problems. (3). Both can be modified to fit your problem. (4). To do turbulence modeling, you could read the book by B.E.Launder and D.B.Spalding, "Mathematical models of Turbulence", Academic Press,1972. (5). To see how various models work in CFD applications, you could read David C. Wilcox book of "Turbulence Modeling for CFD" (6). Once you have the basic understanding of turbulence modeling, you are free to explore your ideas. I think, there was a short book on the turbulence modeling by W. Rodi which also cover various models and applications. (7). Turbulence modeling is a major issue in CFD, it is a research field .
