coef of drag and Re

I am trying to work through the derivation of why Cd is proportional to 1/Re at low Re, directly related....why Cd is constant with respect to Re at high Re. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

How to define your Re. number?
Re=U*d/nu ? In your case, what is d ? Are you studying on the bluff body aerodynamics? Depends on the body shape (geometry), the values of coefficients are different. Now, I almost finished calculating Reynolds number dependency analysis of two-dimensional square cylinder using large eddy simulation. Reynolds number range is from 20 to 22000 and the aerodynamic coefficients are Cd_mean, Cl_mean, Cd_rms, Cl_rms, Strouhal Number. Pressure on cylinder and velocity fields around cylinder are also analyzed. If you have interesting on this fields, please send e-mail. |
