Heat transfer in ducts

Does anyone knows about any studies or papers dealing with heat transfer coefficient calculations in simple ducts in comparison with traditional empirical correlations (Sieder-Tate, Dittus-Boelter,...)? Many thanks

Hello Peter,

Check for the following: "Improved Modeling of Turbulent Forced Convective Heat Transfer in Straight Ducts" M. Rokni and B. Sunden Transactions of the ASME Vol 121 August 1999 Pages 712 to 718

Thanks,

Thomas

Hi Peter,

Principles of heat transfer by Frank Kreith and Mark S Bohn has got Correlation relations(Nusselt) for variety of shapes(single long horizontal cylinder, inclined cylinder, long concentric cylinders, rotating cylinder and disk). regards gita
