QUESTION for all the Brains in the house

If a tank containing 15000 gallons of water were to be suspended up 40' and has a pipe coming out straight down 30' measuring 10" in diameter then reduce to 1" travelling for a distance of 20' parallel, what is the PSI at the output? what is the fomula for calculating such answer?

Iquiring mind wants to know

Steve

Re: QUESTION for all the Brains in the house

I believe this problem cann't be solved unless the geometry of the tank is given. When it is then it becomes a fluid head problem where the pressure depends on the difference in height of the surface of the water in the tank and the exit of the pipe coming out. Check any basic fluid text to solve this problem.

Good luck,.

Jeff
