Hi Marian,
I can give you some references and names concerning the shallow water appoximation for the atmosphere. I also know some people working on more realistic modeling (several layers). You could also have a look at the web site of the University of Urbana Champaign (Colorado, USA) at the center for atmospheric research, etc... If you can give some more details related to what you are interested in, it might help to find the right reference and code. Cheers, Patrick |
