Young (1954) and Frankel (1950) gave the optimum SOR parameter omega(w) in 2D to be the smaller root of:

t^2 * w^2 - 16 * w + 16 = 0

t = cos(PI/p) + cos(PI/q)

where p and q are the number of mesh increments on each side of the rectangular region.

What is the equation for a 3-D grid?
