I will like to know how the wall function is being implemented in the momentum equations for 2-D flow.

Thanks.

Hello, All:

Is any body familar with wall function in rotational frame of reference. Say if the wall is moving, should I still keep the same wall function? Is there any transformation between moving wall and still wall?

I guess should use vorticity relative to the local rotation of the wall. Is the wall deforming?

Take Vr as the relative velocity of fluid relative to the wall, then Vr=Vf-Vw where Vf is absolute velicity of fluid, Vw is absolute velocity of the wall point then take Wr=Curl of Vr as the relative vorticity. Then try to use Wr in the wall function.

Hope it works, or maybe other gurus have better ideas

Thanks. I am wondering what I can do in convert the wall function in a CFX-4 environment.

Hi, Min-Hua:

There is a very good review on vorticity conditions:

M Napolitano, G Pascazio, L Quartapelle, "A review of vorticity conditions in the numerical solution of \xi-\psi equations", Computers & Fluids, Vol28, 1999, pp 139-185.

Good luck,

wen
