Hi, I am doing some simulation on Plasma physics. Since the problem is time depedent, i 'd like to use adaptive time step. Can anybody give me some sugestion or references?

1) The Runge-Kutta method can be adaptive, please

refer to the Numerical Recipe or just try Google.

2) If your problem is hyperbolic, you can calculate the

maximum characteristic speed and compute the time

step. Other type systems can also use the similar

idea.

Cheers
