Hallo All
A very simple question. Using standard k-e models the near-wall region should be described by.... 1) is it described by a wall function that use what is stated in the law-of-the-wall 2) is it described by the law-of-the-wall Are wall functions a general term for different ways of treating what is inside y+ 30, where the law-of-the-wall is one way to do it?? Regards Bo |

My understanding is that:
1. "Wall functions" are a way of modeling the complex turbulent fluid behavior very near a solid wall that bounds a turbulent flow, and 2. The "law of the wall" is the result of many careful measurements of one configuration of turbulent flow, the flow over a flat plate. So, there is the general technique and a particular example. |
