Re: How to caculate cell volume

if you are dealing with generalized curvilinear structural grids. It is quite simple, just the reciprocal of the grid Jacobian J = d(si, eta, gama)/d(x, y, z).

You will find the formulation in the CFD book of Ferziger and Peric. In short, the definition is:

volume = SUM over f of (x_f Ax_f)

where f is all the faces of a control volume x_f the x coordinate of the cell face centre Ax_f the x coordinate of the outward pointing face area vector.
