MeshPilot

There's some free software called MeshPilot for doing automatic grid generation, which I'm going to try out.

Anyone had any good or bad experiences with it?

Thanks.

Hi

The software generates grids for aerofoils. Will that meet all your requirements ?

Try

Yes, it's aerofoil grids I want. What I'm really interested in is whether anyone thinks it's a good product (generally) or whether I'd be wasting my time with it and should go elsewhere.

Sorry for the lack of detail here, I'm a bit of a newbie.

Generates pretty good mesh for some families of airfoils, wings I think. have not seen much compressor or turbine airfoils.

I have not used it much, only played around withit. But The mesh topology used is not good for compressors or turbines. The "inlet" is curved and cannot be used for the plane between blade stages. For aircraft lifting surfaces it should be ok though. I have not yet figured out how to make new topologies, don't even know if it is possible.

It is a very quick tool, you'l have a mesh in a couple of minutes.
