We have setup one with 16 nodes using Slackware, and using it for CFD work. You need to set up a basic linux network, NFS, NIS, DNS. Finally you need to set up MPI or PVM. We chose MPI. It's working great.

Thanks Anwer for response. We have already linux network, NFS, NIS DNS and we can setup MPI. But I am interested how to join linux machine(hardware part) to make them cluster. I want to make a cluster setup of linux machines which i will need further for CFD application.

so i am really looking in hardware part. If you have some information regadring this plz try to send me. I will be highly oblized.

Thanks.

Ajay

If you have your mahines and your network up and running you already have a cluster - just install MPI and start distributing your jobs across your machines. To get good scaling all machines should preferably be on the same switch.
