CFD Applications in Environmental Engineering
Yemi's question about CFD in petroleum engineering inspired me to ask the following (maybe related?) question: Is CFD used in ENVIRONMENTAL engineering? If so, what are the applications?
Thanks! Andy |
Re: CFD Applications in Environmental Engineering
Hell Andy, you can see description plus demo version on cmm.univer.omsk.su/kbks
(on the Russian) There are hydraulics application for large town Omsk-1200 000 peoples- heat water transfer problem near 10 000 pipes. There are not only programm but theorems and new CFD approach for solution. Regards |
Re: CFD Applications in Environmental Engineering
Dear Andy,
CFD has been widely used in these environmental engineering applications (among others): Chemical tracer analysis, Reservoir baffle location and pump station design, Water treatment, wastewater reactions, Groundwater flow, contamination, underground spills, flows in aquifers and mineral deposits, Vitrification of contaminated soil, Ozone contactors, Combustion, Flows in and around buildings, Flows rivers and ponds. I hope this gives you an idea of the breadth of applications. Eric Grald, Fluent Inc. |
