Aerodynamic analysis of car

Hi CFD user!

Can any body give me advise, how much it is relevant to include spinning motion of wheel. While doing modeling, usually we follow relative velocity approach,i.e., we keep the car stationary and assign velocity at inlet. I wish to know what are different approaches for this. I have seen in some of the literature Reynold Stress Model give better estimate for drag coefficient as compared k-e model. Please comment on all the issues.

Thanks

Vikas

Since it is usefull to compare CFD to experiment, at least to validate the code and its models, for spinning wheel the good questions should be : how much it is relevant to include spinning motion of wheel since very few experimental data are available.

Otherwise, if you want to compute real car movement, of course it is relevant. In that case, don't forget the sliding ground.

In case of sliding, I may have to look for transient solution.

hello sir,

I am shrinivas studebt of mechanical engineering in b.v.b.college of eng and tech in hubli in india.

I am in final year study. I am collecting the more information about the CFD IN AERODYNAMIC ANALYSIS OF CAR FROM THE INITIAL STEP. because i am going to do seminar on this subject therefore i request in u please help me in this part.
