About 6 weeks ago, some one asked how they could get an LES code. They were advised as follows:
"Date: Sun, 16 Mar 2003, 5:05 a.m. In Response To: how can i get some LES code? (danney) Navier Stokes solvers for laminar flows are good basis for LES codes. You just have to add a routine for computing the SGS viscosity (Smagorinsky model). G. " Now, I don't understand this. Does one not need to make the code unsteady? Is the N-S Solver for laminar flow already unsteady? Thanks. |

Hi.
You need to have a unsteady NS solver for laminar flow, then you can ammend that code to add the Smagorinbsky model. |
