Fully developed flow profile

Hi All,

I tried to get the fully developed velocity profile in a uniform diameter pipe.
Inlet = Velocity profile
Outlet = Static Pressure = 0
The flow mach number is around 0.35, so I included compressiblity in CFX. when I plotted the profile after 40D, 50D from inlet, I dont get the fully developed profile. The velocity keep on increasing. I think it is due to inclusion of compressiblity(Velocity increases to satisfy continuity equation). I dont think it would make so much difference in velocity in real situation. Am I doing any thing wrong? what you think?

How much does it deviate from fully developed flow profile ? Obviously you cannot expect the exact profile since density changes will cause increase or decrease in the velocity.

Fully developed flow profile-compressibility

Thanks for your reply. I could see a 7% increase in average velocity across area/line @70D from Inlet when compared with fully developed profile with out compressibility.

Do you have these results from experimental data? I´ve got to validate ANSYS CFX, using only forced convection between plates.
