What is single and multi-block?

Hi,

What is single and multi-block?

Lets say for example I use ICEM CFD and I use block splitting. Will it then become a multiblock mesh?

Single block refers to a single structured grid used throughout the entire domain. In the multiblock method the domain is decomposed into different regions and they are meshed with structured grids separately. This is used with complex and multibody geometries which are not easy to be meshed with structured grid. Refer to the electronic book of Thompson for more details.
