preconditioned compressible vs incompressible flow
Does anyone know of any good literature outlining the advantages/disadvantages of using a preconditioned compressible solver against a separate incompressible solver for low mach number flows?

Re: preconditioned compressible vs incompressible
There is a AIAA conference paper by Chuck Merkel comparing the preconditioned Navier Stokes Equations versus PISO. It ended up that they were very similar in performance and what they actually did to the equations. I think preconditioned Navier Stokes is better, because the spatial discritization associated with these methods seem to be less dissipative.
