give me some advice about compressible LES.

dear all

i just want to study compressible LES because of it's challenge and my favourite. i am interesting in CFD and Turbulence. i have the foundations in fluid flow.

in compressible LES,there are some topics such as wall model,SGS model, the numerical method, the filter function, etc. which direct of study is better? how is the state of these topics.

could you give some information about it,for example, reference, web site, homepage. thanks

Re: give me some advice about compressible LES.

Hi,

For a general incompressible LES approach (part of the theory and modeling in compressible LES directly comes from incompressible LES) :

P. Sagaut, 2003. Large-eddy simulation for incompressible flows - An introduction. 2nd edition. scientific computation serie, Springer-Verlag, Berlin.

U. Piomelli, 2001. Large-eddy and direct simulation of turbulent flows. CFD 2001 - 9eme conference annuelle de la societe canadienne de CFD. See U. Piomelli homepage : http://www.glue.umd.edu/~ugo/

Here are some specific references for compressible LES

Re: give me some advice about compressible LES.

dear Lionel

thanks a lot.

all of that mentioned above is very useful to me, and i will to find them and study. I can find all of reference except it: P. Comte and M. Lessieur, 1998. Large-eddy simulation of compressible turbulent flows. In "Advances in turbulence modeling", lecture series 1998-05, VKI.

if you don't mind could you send me a copy? best regards

Re: give me some advice about compressible LES.

Hi

I don't have yet any copy of this reference, but I should meet Pr. Comte next week and I will ask him if he has some. If so, I'll send it to you.

Best regards
