hello;
i'm trying to find the best turbulence model to be used for flow in branches and manifolds. using some data i found that standars and SST K-OMEGA is the best. is this ok? as i understand, k-w is only used for heat transfer applications. So, is it ok to use it for flow in branches? thank you |

There is nothing like a best RANS model for a particular problem. Some models perform better than the other. Regarding k-omega model, it has been applied for a wide range of flows. You can choose either the SST model or the most recent k-omega model of Wilcox for your application. Also integrate through the viscous layer with damping if you might encounter flow separation.
