hai,

i am new to CFD. iam interested to learn CFD.iam basically studying aeronautical engg final year from india that to andhra pradesh. can any one suggest good book to learn CFD fundamentals.

When I first started to look at CFD (which wasn't long ago), I found these books very useful

Computational Fluid Dynamics - the basics with applications by Anderson (ISBN 007 113210-4)

This gives a good general overview of the numerics underlying CFD.

An Introduction to Computational Fluid Dynamics (The finite volume method) by Versteeg & Malalasekera (ISBN 0582 21884-5)

This gives a very good introduction to the finite volume method.

Fundamentals of Aerodynamics by Anderson (ISBN 007 118146-6) may also be of use, as it offers a very good introduction to aerodynamics (although you may not need it), but it also gives an introduction to the numerical methods underlying CFD.

Computational Fluid mechanics and Heat Transfer by Tannehill, Anderson,Pletcher (ISBN 1-56032-046X ) gives a very good description of the many finite difference methods used for solving problems in heat transfer and fluid flow.

There are many others, the best thing for you to do is first of all, take a look at the books section on CFD-online, and also Amazon and read the reviews. Then, choose which books you think may be best for you and take a note of their ISBN number. Take this to your library, and they will get it for you in 2-3 weeks. This allows you to have try before you buy as some of the CFD books out there can be quite expensive (£100 +). I always tend to buy my books anyway, but doing this has saved me from buying some books that were very expensive and over my head.

There are also some online books available free of charge, take a look in the tutorial section of CFD-online.

I will suggest you to read CFD by Malalasekara, is the best book for Finite volume method, CFD by Milovan Peric , this is second one to read. I wish u all the best
