Ivan K. is on a distinguished road
I am working in geophysical turbulence modelling. However I want to ask those who worked in ingeneering applications of k-epsilon model about the following.
The problems of k-epsilon in boundary layer modelling with adverse pressure gradients is well known. But was the k-epsilon successfully applied for flows with positive (along mean velocity vector) pressure gradients? Are there some papers on that subject?
In particular, it can be shown from integral relationlips that in such flows the BL depth should be inversely proportional to pressure gradient. Was k-epsilon successfull in predicting this behavior?
