boundary conditions

Hello,

I am studying the effect of a turbomachine immersed in a large pool of water.

I want to reduce the size of the pool to increase the speed of calculation. Indeed, the pool is much too large.

What boundary conditions should I apply to the walls of the pool to reduce it?

Use of wall BC on a small pool size will change the problem physics. Are you interested in studying the effect of the wall? Are you interested in the turbomachine performance only? If you are interested in the second option, you can use the farfield boundary conditions. A lot of work has been done on farfield boundary conditions.

For your use in finding references, some folks call them non-reflecting boundary conditions, or characteristic boundary conditions.
