Hi,

I am kinda confused with the Euler-Euler approach for two-phase (gas-liquid) flow using LES. In the EE-approach, the NS equations are averaged and by applying LES, I filtered the equations again (which is also some sort of averaging). Is this valid? Doesn't it mean that you are averaging an already averaged equation? I hope someone can elaborate on this. Thanks in advance.

Why you consider averaging ?

Will it be possible to consider a different modelling approach!!!

well... the euler-euler equations are already averaged for use of the k-e model. but some people used LES instead of k-e. but LES is for filtered NS equations. In a single phase flow its no problem. but is this really valid for a two-phase flow?
