modeling heat conduction-convection

Hello,

I'm trying to model the standard heat conduction-convection equation for a lineair heater source in a cylindrical system with an upward water flow (perpendicular to the cylindrical axis), preferrably 3D.

I'm wondering which open source package would be suited for this problem (and if this can be easily implemented). Since I have no experience with CFD, some sort of manual would be useful as well.

Kind regards,

Maurits

i think this is a very simple problem. you can use any commercial package, such as Fluent, etc.

Yes, it shouldn't be too difficult but I'm looking for an open source package and not a commercial package.

I suggested you to try the OPENFOAM
