Hi CFD users,


I have a question regarding diffuse interface models? Going through a few journal papers, I can see that the diffuse interface model uses the concept of free energy and interface energy that dissipate the energy over time to model the flow. [Paper: Stabilized 2nd order convex splitting schemes for Cahn-Hilliard models with application to diffuse-interface tumor-growth models]


But related to diffuse interface models, mostly researchers link the concept to "Phase-Field" method. I can see that phase-field method is a type of diffuse interface model.



My question is - "are there any other diffuse interface models apart from phase-field which I am confused about?"
