Y plus
Hi,
I'm using a k-epsilon turbulence model to simulate duct flow. I calculate Yplus from Y*Utau/Nu Is the viscosity Nu the laminar viscosity or the sum of laminar and turbulent viscosities? Thanks |
Re: Y plus
I believe it is the laminar kinematic viscosity.

Re: Y plus
nu is kinematic viscosity. there is not such a thing as laminar kinematic viscosity, there is kinematic viscosity and eddy viscosity. Mikael Ersson is right.

Re: Y plus
Just to add to the forum: I believe, sometimes kinematic viscosity is called molecular viscosity and any other modelled viscosity is refered to differently, e.g. hyperviscosity, eddy-viscosity, etc.
