Hello all,
I have an odd request on which I have been working for nearly 4months with no joy. I use CFX on a Ansys Workbench platform and the version is 14.5. I am trying to model the structural change of a fluid as it is flowing through the domain. The structural parameter can be termed as alpha for instance. This alpha is a function of the local fluid velocity and as the fluid velocity changes (exceeds a critical value) the alpha reduces accordingly. However, the change is permanent (the fluid retains this change) and the alpha value never increases even with reduction in fluid velocities. As an analogy, consider a person leaves his house with 100$ and walks to the local shop. He spends 10$ and now is left with 90$. And then he goes to another shop and spends 25$, which leaves him with 65$. Then he returns back home. Thus the total money with him is 65$. Similarly, this alpha value starts off at the inlet with say 1 and as it flows through the fluid domain depending on the flow conditions can/should reduce. Is there any way this can be done in CFX please. I have tried using transport variables and algebraic equations and I do not seem to have cracked this problem.
