Problems with the gravity in granular flow
 

Hello Friends,

I have a really serious problem. Which sounds simple at the beginning, but is very difficult in its details. I have an CFD-Code with an Euler/Euler-Multiphase Flow model. There is one particle phase and one gas phase.

It should be possible to calculate a very dense particle phase (granular-flow). When I finished with the gas phase flow and the implemention of the particle phase. (Also the velocity (u/v/w) is implemented for gas and particles.) I got a really funny problem. When I use the source term rho*g*V(=F) as a source term in the momentum-equation of the particular phase. The velocities for the particles lead to an movement even inside an dense packing of particles. Has any formulation like an pressure inside the packing to stop the particles? Please contact me even if you hve no solution but also work with Euler/Euler (I have a lot of questions!!! :) )
