Eddy Viscosity Transport ModelCFX has an option to use the Eddy Viscosity Transport Equation. I assume that this is the same as the Eddy Viscosity Transport Model developed by Menter described in a paper at
http://ntrs.nasa.gov/archive/nasa/ca...1995107859.pdf I am having difficulty describing, from a physics standpoint, the different between this model and the k-epsilon and other one-equation models. I am not familiar enough with turbulence to understand the significance of the destruction term. Any comments? Also when is this model recommended? Finally, in the classes of turbulence models described at http://www.cfd-online.com/Wiki/Turbulence_modeling would you say that this fits under Linear eddy-viscosity models and one-equation models? It seems obvious but I thought I'd check. Thanks so much for any advice. |
