Hi,

I am performing 2D axisymmetric simulation of flow in pipe.

I prep the initial mesh in gambit and have aligned the axis to the X-axis, prepared a simple Quad Map mesh and then exported a 2D mesh.

After importing it in Fluent, i checked the mesh and the minimum volume was +ve.

I switched on axisymmetric mode under solver, then again checked mesh, it shows a -ve volume.

What can be the reason?

For axisymmetry you should make sure the radius is non-negative, otherwise negative volumes may be created.
