Shallow water depth-velocity coupling

Hi All,
I am trying to write shallow water equation model using finite volume method. The problem, I am having is how to connect and couple velocity and depth. In some papers I have seen that using the depth average continuity equation, they are able to attain elevation-correction Poisson equation. I am interested in the derivation of the same, Can any one point me to the relevant sources. Thanks a lot, Sumit |
