Hi,
I am a beginner in field of turbulence modelling. PLease can you guide me whether turbulence model given in the books, which are mostly for RANS can be directly used for Favre-Averaged NS equations. I guess they must be different.Where can I get the information on FANS turbulence model. Thanks |

Normal RANS based turbulence models work well for most flows. Only when you have hypersonic flows etc. will you need special turbulence models. You can check out the first part of my thesis (downloadable from my home-page here: http://www.cfd-online.com/Users/jola/ ). There are some info about favre averagaing and turbulence modeling in it, including some words about when the terms in question can be neglected.
