I am currently working on a problem that requires the simulation of a fuel injection sytem in a inlet port. I would like to know if it is possible to link the continous and discrete simulation,to a VOF in Fluent

I am trying to simulate the fuel particle interaction with the fuel film created on the inside of the port

Any help would be appreciated as I have come to a stop on this!

It is not possible to link the two through traditional methods. As you have probably seen, the 3 methods for solving continuous multi-phase flows are not capable of solving for particles. These are similar to most HMP models. To look at particles, you need to come up with some sort of dynamic model that has to be linked through the UDF's and source term methods. I did something similar for water and fuel, looking at fuel droplets (see Badeau, A.E (2000) "A droplet formation and entrainment model for stratified, liquid-liquid flows.") However, I would not recommend using FLUENT for this job, maybe if you could get FLOW3D, it would be better.

Try this code I used for my postDoc on spray atomization: http://www.nabla.co.uk/main/mainhe30.html#sprayBreakup

It should be able to do what you want and its free.
